About Me

I was born and raised on a farm in South Dakota. At the age of 18 I moved to California where I had my own business for many years selling food products. At 44 years of age I decided to go to law school and became a government attorney in California for 20 years. I lived in California for almost most 50 years. I retired this year. Sold my possessions or gave them away and will slow travel starting in southeast Asia -- until I can't any more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find that knowing 'the people' of an area makes a complete understanding of the country itself. You can look at 'sights', but without the people, they are merely 'sights.' I have travelled with a tour company that requires you stay at least one night of the trip in each country with a family in the area. They are the most memorable moments.
Whether discussing history/politics/religion/food/gardening/pets/environmental concerns, I always came away feeling a connection to the country. I have travelled extensively in the USA and love to share who we are. AND I love cats, sheep and rabbits...:)

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have favorite music - its what fits the moment. Sitting by a lake watching two swans float by is classical love, watching people jumping in a water fountain is rock and roll and sometimes the view inspires gospel. There is, of course, country western, which involves trucks, dogs, love, alcohol and sorrow.
Movies? I'm a sci fi fan and a trekie... and all action adventure.
Books? anything Clive Cussler or sci fi

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

You can talk about how I became the first female executive in a fortune 100 company, how I started my own company, how I went to law school at 44 and became a really good trial attorney and what's amazing is:
that I found me. It is so calming and solid... took me a long time :) and its good

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach you? what do you want to know... I can tell you about the the people of USA. I can tell you about finding your self. I can tell you about running a business and customer service. I would share the amazing diversity of the USA and its 'complications.' I want to know about your views and visions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like hearing other views of the world and sharing mine. I'm a relatively good cook. I can pour concrete, lay tile, tend sheep, and kiss kitties... and an interest in the world and your place in it.
I can share my travels to other countries and the people I met.
