I'm a recent high school graduate from Mission High in San Francisco, CA. While I was in high school, I pursued slam poetry, multicultural club, youth leadership, and managed any events in my school's auditorium - setting up audio/visual tech and facilitating the shows. I like getting outside and exploring just as much as I do stowing away indoors and watching a few movies. I'm always interested in expanding my knowledge/skills, whether that be through cultural talks or lessons on knitting, cooking... you name it, I'm probably intrigued by it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've hit somewhat of an unlucky streak in the past months, and have had to take an unexpected gap year. So, understandably, I'm looking for things to do now. And since I'm away from school for a year, what better experience than to travel? *I'm hoping to stay in the Dublin area for around a month starting early January*
As I've mentioned, I do some slam poetry. I've been out of the scene for a short while, but I love to go to open mics and hear people's writing. I enjoy walks and exploring both urban and natural environments. If you know something significant or unique to your community, I want to see it. I love animals! I haven't really danced much in my life and I'm ready to embarrass myself to learn how.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Summer of 2015, I was lucky enough to go on a student expedition to Tanzania with National Geographic. I was on the wildlife & conservation group, going through safari in the Serengeti to document conservation efforts, particularly with big cats. We also stayed a local village, Maji ya Chai, and had multiple cultural talks with both village locals and elders of the Maasai tribe in Tanzania.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I'll be on the road, I won't have much to offer in the physical sense, but I'm always up for conversation. I can help clean, I'll wash dishes, etc and gladly share my story from my trip to Tanzania. I love gardening and have worked on a farm if you need help there as well!
