Corey Carrington better known as Grits Capone is a poet, writer, and journalist from the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA. I am a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a degree in Communications and Creative Writing. My articles have been published by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, The NorthSide Chronicle , and The Thomas Merton Center's, The NewPeople covering social justice and community events. I enjoy teaching creative writing to youth. Im a contributing writer to BlogOrDie.Net as well as for my personal site, DeeperThanGrits. com. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011 I completed Public Allies Pittsburgh, a 10 month servant leadership program in which I worked for The Thomas Merton Center, a social justice organization, founded on the principles held my Father Thomas Merton, a Catholic Monk.
