About Me

My name is Cory. I live in Portland, OR. I spend most of my time working, walking my dog, reading philosophy, seeing live music, doing yoga... living the Portland dream. My brother's name is Zach. He studies computer science and theater at the University of Michigan. He is basically a chilled-out entertainer. This is a video of him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngEQT5YTdg0 ... No, that's not a video of him, but it is an example of the kind of fun we are capable of generating.
We are kind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My brother and I are going on a road trip at the end of May. He has to move from Grand Rapids, MI to Los Angeles for a summer internship, so we're turning it into a road trip.

Zach:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My brother hasn't answered me back about his favorite Music, Movies & Books. I'm not sure if he knows how to read, but I know he likes the movie Step Brothers. That was a little mean, but I am slightly upset that he's not answering me back at this crucial time in the profile creation. I will press on. Since Zach is not available to tell me something Amazing he's done, I will tell you two amazing things I've done.
Number 1: My roommate was choking on watermelon. I performed the Heimlich maneuver, and the watermelon jumped out of her throat. I had just taken a bong rip with a British person I had just met at the bar. I had never before performed the Heimlich maneuver, but I intuited it in the moment.
Number 2: Freshmen year of college, I was exiting my friend's dorm room. There was an m&m in my hand and a roll of toilet paper on the desk 8-12 feet away from me. I said "m&m in the toilet paper roll" and I threw the m&m beer-pong style directly into the middle of the toilet paper roll.

So I wrote, "Teach, Learn, Share" three times, then I copied-pasted it, and it turned into six. Then I copied-pasted the six and it turned into 12. I did that three more times.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are not stingy. Money. If you want to go out for a couple drinks, we can buy you a couple drinks. Maybe one day you're in Portland, and you can crash on my couch. My dog is kind of a dick, though. He will probably growl at you. Lately he's been licking the bathtub nonstop. He might have anemia. Am I sharing too much? I will share everything with you, my host.
If we are in your home, we are not going to feel comfortable unless you feel appreciated.
