About Me

Hi! My name is Stu. I grew up in Warrnambool, a small coastal town on the South West coast of Victoria, Australia. Now, after several years of living abroad in Prague, I am based again in Melbourne and working as a freelance writer. I have a passion for acting and theatre. As a playwright, I've written four original stage plays and I am currently working on a novel :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything from Michael Jackson, to David Bowie, to Jeff Buckley, to Irish folk music, to Italian pop music, to Blues music, jazz music ... well, you get the idea. My favourite novel is The Count of Monte Christo by Alexandre Dumas. I also admire the writings of Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Franz Kafka to name a few. I enjoy all types of literary genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favourite experience in Europe has to be Carnevale in Venice. It was such a magical experience. Everyone dons masks, people throw confetti in the streets, and music is played in every square and on every street corner. I'll never forget it!
In the Czech Republic my favourite experience has been writing and acting in my own original theatre play at the Prague Fringe Festival. It was an amazing experience to not only go to a festival like the Prague Fringe but to be an actual participant as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to teach what I know about writing, english, acting, visual art, and whatever else. I know some Czech, and some basic Italian and would love to improve my language skills.
