About Me

To learn about myself as I learn about others. To meet people from different cultures, have new experiences, make memories, and of course share some of this San Diego sunshine! I love it here, and I'm sure you will too. ;)

ABOUT ME much to say that couldn't possibly fit in this tiny little box! I am open-minded, adventurous and in a perpetual state of envy for those that have had the opportunity to see and experience different parts of the world. I definitely have the travel bug, and I try to get out of town as much as possible. I have had some amazing travel experiences, and am looking forward to much more in the future!

I consider myself to be a genuine person. I mean what I say and say what I mean. I believe in karma. I try to help others when I can. I am not jaded. I still believe in the inherent goodness of people. My glass is half full. I'm like a carpenter building stairs - always thinking one step ahead. I believe education sets our minds free. I like reading, live music, laughing, children, sunsets, karaoke, blue jeans, high heels, taking long walks with short people (not in high heels), spending time with old friends and making new ones.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has changed my life in the best possible way. I started hosting a few years ago, and I quickly became addicted to meeting new and interesting people from different places and of different cultural backgrounds. I have attended some local meetup events in San Diego where I have met some very interesting people, and I've had the opportunity to meet up with fellow couch surfers in other countries as well. I look forward to continuing my involvement with this network for years to come. I have had the pleasure of surfing with several of my former guests in the US and Europe, as well as with strangers. I love the international social network I have built through this organization and look forward to building more relationships in the future. I have taken a break from hosting for awhile to focus on some personal goals, but I plan on opening my home again in the future! :)

I have a pretty busy schedule Monday-Friday. So if you stay with me during the week, I may not have much time to show you around. But on the weekends, I can usually spend some time with you. Either way, I can give you lots of recommendations for places to go while you're in town. The CS community is about connecting with people and learning and sharing with one another, so I do my best to spend time with my guests and the people who have hosted me.

I get a ton of requests since I live in an area where so many people come to visit, so I typically only host those that take time to personalize their requests and read my profile. Couchsurfing isn't just about finding a place to stay; it's also about connecting individuals and making the world a smaller place. My home is not a hotel. Considerate guests are always welcome.

So far, my experience has been great! I want to see more of the world when my schedule permits, but for now, if I can't go to the world, the world can come to me. ;) I'm a huge proponent of this community and think it is a genius idea. It's a great way to meet different types of people and build a global social network. I have made a number of new friends from many different cultures and backgrounds, and I look forward to making many more. I find it very exciting. Everyone I have met so far is very like-minded, really laid back and a ton of fun. The CS community consists of generous, open-minded individuals who all make the world a better place by opening their homes and their hearts to one another.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an avid reader. Mostly non-fiction business books lately, but I do enjoy a bit of pop culture in some modern fiction from time to time.

I love music. I enjoy going to concerts and music festivals. All types of music. Gimme a good beat and I'm a happy girl. ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I followed my dreams and moved cross-country to California. Never looked back.

I did a house swap in Colorado over the holidays in 2010. That was an amazing experience. I went skiing in the Rockies a couple of days and even met up with some couch surfers I hosted in San Diego and stayed with them a night. So much fun!
