I'm kind of in a hurry, but to get to know me a bit better, here is an ad I posted on craigslist recently.
I am currently working for a company called Thrift Books and will be transferring to the location in NE Portland.
I also plan to enroll in school for mass communications with an emphasis in film, but the location is still up in the air.
I tend to keep to myself quite often, but can be sociable when the company calls for it. Sometimes a bit eccentric, but in a good way, I suppose. I love to observe and take down various notes regarding my current state or whatever happens to be around me. I'm very into music/film (like everyone else in the area, probably) and am looking forward to attending a bunch of shows this Summer. Some genres that are keen to my interest include; noise, dream pop, trip hop, lo fi ,acid jazz, trip hop, ambient, experimental, freak folk, etc. I don't really believe in lumping musicians into a specific category of music, but whatever. I'm trying to master my baritone ukulele, which for right now is pretty much a lost cause. I'm pretty laid back and it takes quite a lot of effort for me to lose my temper. I'm not sure I really have one.
I'm from the midwest, so I really just need a change of pace. I'm looking forward to getting lost in all of the various neighborhoods, catching a film at one the many independent theaters, going to a local show or hiding out in a corner booth at some local dive. Oh, and admittedly, karaoke. and a lot of dancing--a sweaty basement show, a crowded club, an empty bar, someone's living room, on the sand, anywhere. I almost never take the party home, though. From my experience with living alone, I've learned A LOT about hosting parties and doesn't really work for me anymore.
Anyway, more specifically about what I'm looking for:
I need a place to stay. Ideally, my plan was to live off of student loans and get my own place, but I haven't yet figured out my school situation in its entirety. Finding a roommate would probably be more cost efficient, especially living on the west coast. I've always had my own place, so this is also kind of new to me. I'm very adaptable and have found myself making friends with people of all ages and back rounds. As long as we vibe. I would love to live in a cute, walkable neighborhood, preferably near public transit since I don't currently have a car. Month to month would also be nice, but I'm flexible. As far as things, I don't need much, really. Oh, and I do tend to keep late hours, but I'm pretty respectable when comes privacy and such.
If you don't have a place, but would like to show me around, that would be cool too.
do what you want.
