ABOUT ME

Well...I'm your quintessential English man who started life from scratch in SP. Originally, I was traveling around Brazil, and 4 years later, a little girl (and that's a l-o-ong story), and I still haven't left. I teach English to buy my pão and manteiga, write sample based music and adorn my 2 cats with love and affection.

PHILOSOPHY

A few would be: Don't ask don't get. Are your excuses your reasons? Perseverance is everything. When you believe in something, go for it. Don;t be shy, though I am. Treat other's as you'd be expected to be treated. Never look in the mirror and say Candyman three times because...it's stupid.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Once upon a time, many moons ago, I had 7 Germans stay with me in Brighton. I swam with them in the middle of the night and in the middle of December. Generally, I had a splendid old time with them.

I've just got back involved with the site, but let's be honest, if you're coming to Brazil, you're probably gonna want to stay/have a cuppa with a Brazilian. That is unless you want advice, or you're completely incapable of speaking Portuguese. Either way, I'm here if you need. I can accept second place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have years of experience lying horizontally on both other people's couches, and my own..of course. Sometimes, whilst sleeping, other times whilst watchin' 'House' or reading a book by a highly regarded author from the early 2oth century[cough cough].

Music, Movies, and Books

[tv]Am obsessive about things, for example series; thus, I tend to avoid them. However, House is a current favorite.
[movies]Top 3 films: 1. Apocalypse Now. 2. The Godfather (what did you expect?). 3. Amélie Poulain.
[music] The 'hates' list is smaller...so, I loathe most forms of Reggae, except Bob, obviously. Any derivative of reggae, and especially professional surfers come singer song writers (you know who!). The term 'Heavy rock', 'metal' and 'thrash' instill as much fear in me as the terms 'House', techno', and 'acid'. I like pop though, be it, trashy or avante-garde: Beyonce, Hymie's basement, deerhoof, joanna newsom, dirty projectors or Outkast to name a few.

I teach English. I'm not going to be your teacher.
If you want a tip, here's a good one: The vowels in English attract the indefinite article 'AN' based only on the phonetic sound of a vowel, not on the letter itself. Example: I've never seen A (not an) Unicorn; however, the band, the unicorns, were rad.
