Live the London life (when around...!). Chris just came back from living in Sierra Leone - so enjoying the most out of each other's company!
Also we want to learn Go 囲碁 from a master!
We are a gay couple, work in the not-for-profit sector: one of us in a large INGO (health programmes) and the other in youth development (livelihoods partnership). We are both university graduates (social sciences, humanities) with a craving for first hand knowledge of how this wonderful and daunting world works.
We both lived in Mexico City for a bit and we were exploring the rest of Latin America before we got sidetracked through Oceania on our way to Australia. We sailed through the Pacific, then flew to New Zealand where we spent our time going to festivals, tramping, camping and WWOOFing. Then Australia for a year of hard work.
Then we tramped around SE Asia for a bit before returning to the UK to get on with some serious career work. We both lived together for a year and a half until Chris got an amazing opportunity to work for IMC in West Africa.
To use all those cliches, we are easy-going, like to party, have a good time and are friendly people. Also we like to cook, and be cooked for ;)!
"The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware."
- Henry Miller

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We were just traveling, surfing and sometimes actually living, but we had the pleasure to host a few people in Melbourne before shared house politics made it unpracticable...!
We like surfing to get to know people, exchange knowledge, and most importantly feel like we belong in a community. We do not surf to save a quick buck.
Hosting in a shared house in London is not possible unfortunately, but we go to the occasional monthly meetup.
We have both couchsurfed in Mexico, Panama, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Singapore and Thailand. Chris has CSed in Portugal, France and China as well. We like experiences where we share with others and enjoy good company! We hosted in Melbourne for a while, until a new housemate moved in and told us to stop... :(
Travelling, obviously. Cooking and baking. Yoga, mostly Bikram. We both like swimming and ping-pong too. Reading. Talking. Getting drunk. Parties. Politics and history. Meeting other people! We like outgoing, confident, kind and sociable people with good stories to tell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once saw this dog poo on the street and it was vertical! Seriously, i mean it was about 6 inches tall and it was all pointing up in the air! I took a pic on my phone, but its in my other phone.
Also, arriving at the tiny island of Fatu Hiva after 28 days of open water sailing from the Galapagos Islands. We saw no other person or land for a whole month and then we saw the the breathtaking 'Bay of Cocks' (bay d'verges) come out of the mist like the Lost World!
Teach, Learn, Share
Jimmy was a baker for a year in Australia and was an English teacher (CELTA), we can talk in Spanish together and Chris can chat in French and Italian...we will both go to yoga with you! Chris is a first aider and can teach you how to stabilise a severed limb or tourniquet a limb due to catastrophic bleeding.
If you like backgammon you are looking at 2 enthusiasts. Chris is pretty damn good.
