ABOUT ME

I studied engineering in college and I'm interested in the relationship of global public health, environmental engineering, and public policy for water and sanitation.

I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and road biking. I'm also an avid swimmer. I enjoy doing things off the beaten path and exploring new places with friends whether it's hiking up "Stairway to Heaven" on Oahu in Hawaii, drinking kava with Tongans, biking through DC to hang out at a drum circle, or hitting up a music festival to check out new bands.

Spending time with other people and building relationships is very important to me. I like discussing all sorts of topics from culture, politics, global affairs, the environment, traveling, and sports. Having visited many locations around the world where there is great poverty, social unrest, disparity, and sometimes even lack of hope, I think building relationships is the key to peace and human flourishing around the world. Sharing culture and experience among people of different backgrounds also helps to promote tolerance and understanding between different people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different genres of music but my favorites are indie rock, funk, and American roots music. A couple of my favorite bands are TV on the Radio, Cut Copy, Animal Collective, The Black Keys, The Band, and Janelle Monae.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are too many to choose from - one was snorkelling in the Solomon Islands to visit a WWII shipwreck...and doing so in a storm and sharks circling the waters!
