ABOUT ME

Hi! I used to travel with my guitar pretty much full time back in the day, coast to coast USA all over. Some of the most fun adventures I ever had, just riding the music from town to town and meeting the positive spiritually motivated folks in the bigger cities and the smaller towns...I'm just getting back on the road a little bit here and there, got the travel bug and the weather is right! This really looks like a fun site to use to meet people before i even get to your town and meet people who might need a place to crash for a few days in my city (currently COLUMBUS, OHIO)

I am a seasoned and conscientious traveler. Not one to make a mess or hang around the apt all day! I can cook some pretty good simple vegetarian food, I play just about any instrument with strings or keys, write my own songs and sing them anywhere (clubs, coffee houses, parties, out on the street) for tips or just to share!

When I'm at home, i play organ with a punk/psychedelic/garage band (MORS ONTOLOGICA). You can google that and hear plenty music. We've been gigging in Columbus and around the east coast for the last 7 years! I have a small, cute apt that I share with my fiance, Lori, and a crazy fun little orange cat. Spirituality, environmental and progressive action, music, art & dancing is our life! (bohemians to the core, guilty as charged).

In your city, I am looking to check out the local music and play some music around town. I travel light with an acoustic guitar and some harmonicas that i don't know how to play yet! i will not practice harmonica anywhere near your home! I'm a walking man and enjoy just kicking about new places on long meandering walks and finding the out of the way hidden treasure spots and meeting new people. I am very easily pleased in general and have the simplest of tastes in everything. I enjoy the company of kind and positive folks and strive to be one myself!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a long time living on the road more or less full time (roughly 1990 - 1998), but I haven't really done much traveling since! I met so many people in so many cities and regions of the USA that I couldn't even begin to recount them all here. My essential philosophy of travel is to treat everyone you meet thankfully, as a humble guest in their city, and so many people just offered up some time or a place to stay for a few days out of the goodness of their hearts and support for a spirit music traveler! I make darn sure to tread lightly and give generously what i can give of what i have!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to study various scriptural and metaphysical books, I like any music that is raw and genuine and positive, especially reggae and psychedelic/garage rock, punk rock, folk, blues, soul, jazz, jungle, dubstep, techno, whatever...really just people expressing their true hearts in a yearning for the healing of the planet and it's peoples! nothing too smooth or too overly intellectualized...heart based stuff!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Really, just putting yourself out there and traveling without a net has brought me so many places, from playing with my band at the Knitting Factory in NYC to stumbling upon a living western ghost-town full of chihuahuas in Arizona...traveling without an agenda can really bring you places you never even thought existed!

I like discussing metaphyical stuff if that's your bag, but I am in no way interested in being preachy about anything...everyone has their own path toward Light and we meander as we must! I could show you a few things on the guitar and i sure wouldn't mind jamming a bit on some blues or something...
