About Me

CURRENT MISSION

One last working holiday before I turn "too old"

ABOUT ME

I am an adventurous soul who would love nothing more than to be able to freely travel to any destination at any time. Over the years travel has become my main passion in life along with my sport, Gymnastics/Trampoline. I competed nationally and internationally in trampoline for 14 years, and just last year after 10 years away from competition, I competed again in the masters category. Also just this year I began writing for a trampoline website and hope to continue the journalism aspect of the sport. I have been a coach since 1999 and I love it. I don't work, I get paid to play and teach kids valuable skills and life lessons. It's amazing!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined couschsurfing before I left for a one year working holiday in Australia with the intention of doing some couchsurfing. It turned out that I mainly used hostels during my trip. I returned to Vancouver just over a year ago and I was finally able to host surfers while I lived in suitable accommodation. I have been to some local couchsurfing events and have met a lot of really great people. I hope to get more involved in organizing events here and hosting occasionally when I am able to. I currently live in a share house not suitable for hosting, but I have made many local friends within the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted two guests so far and it has been a great experience. I loved being a tour guide and found a great appreciation for where I live and work, by showing it to someone from somewhere else! I have also met some people at CS events and have made some great friends. Travellers are the best kinds of people- open minded, friendly, adventurous, welcoming... I really miss travelling right now so by hosting and meeting other who love travelling it's like the world is coming to me!!
