ABOUT ME

I am a chemistry major. In a sad attempt to try and break the mold, last summer I obtained my first piercing: my eyebrow. As this year has progressed, however, I realize more and more what a nerd I am and how much I enjoy the subject and what a good choice I made to pick it as my major. So much for breaking loose.

PHILOSOPHY

I am the biggest believer of "everything that's meant to happen, will." I take things in stride and hardly anything ever seriously fazes me. Didn't get that job I needed to feed myself over the summer? Whatever, I'd probably have hated it anyway. Time to wait me some tables.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a frequent squatter in friend's dorms and apartments and houses, I feel like it is only fair that I offer up my humble abode to the poor starving college students who need a roof over their heads for a short time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I guess my most share-worthy couchsurfing story has to be the Brooklyn story. A friend of mine writes a sex column and mentioned a guy who sounded like he would be cool. I contacted him via Facebook and three weeks later found myself on a plane to Brooklyn, about to meet and stay with this friend of a friend I've never seen in person before. Me, as a female, flying to the other side of the country to meet a strange man. People smarter than myself would probably think twice, but I had an absolute blast and did indeed get along quite superbly with this friend of a friend. So much so, in fact, that I flew out again two months later to spend my spring break with him. We are now good friends. I am even good friends with his good friends. Infiltration complete.

Interests

Rap music, really good food, going to great lengths to get really good food, watching TV shows about really good food (Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives? I am so envious of both his job and his ability to still fit through normal sized doorways!), yelping really good food...you get the picture. When I am not stuffing my face I like to swim, ride my bike, read trashy chick-lit, drink really great beer, and party like a rockstar.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to rap for the lyrics, and not because they particularly inspire me (although some do), I like it because they're so aneurysm-inducing funny. Like Biggie, "believe me, sweetie, I got enough to feed the needy." And you better belive I read Word Up Magazine.
