Teaching English in Vietnam
Have been fortunate enough to have travelled extensively since I was little, but haven't finished yet.
Did a degree in history, went travelling around South America, lived in London for a while and now off to Vietnam to work and travel the region...
Am sociable, easy-going, adventurous, respectful, outgoing, likeable, honest and trustworthy.
Have a wide range of interests from literature to sports to music to partying to politics to whatever...
I want to travel and hopefully couchsurfing can help me understand and appreciate the places I visit more than the standard tourist experience
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Joined this site in 2009, took advantage of the kind hospitality of some great people across South America in 2009, had some great fun hosting people when I had a flat in London over the summer and now looking to meet new people now I am back on the road in SE Asia!...
Stayed with some great people in South America a couple of years ago. Genuine highlights of my trip would have stayed with even more people if I had been more organised in arranging it.
Would recommend getting involved to everyone.
Hosted some great people in 2011 in London and hope I made their trips that bit more special by showing them some stuff they wouldn't otherwise have seen.
One bad experience in Poland where the guy gave me a bad reference where I completely refute what he says, his English was not good and we got off on the wrong foot and it went downhill but nothing serious at all like he said! Hopefully meet lots of more people who can tell the couchsurfing world that this isn't true and I am a nice guy!
Socialising, travelling, literature, sports, music, films...etc
Music, Movies, and Books
Most music, I have my own tastes but am tolerant, good films more than crap films, intelligent books rather than tripe
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking through India a truckdriver asked me for cash. I said I had none and he let me in anyway. When I went to get out he tried to give me 500 rupees because he thought I had no money, this is a huge amount for an overnight truck driver and for me it is the most memorable act of kindness from a stranger. (Much to do with the spirit of couchsurfing I think)
