To share joy, dance and better myself and the world in every way possible
Learner, lover, dreamer, dancer (not a very good one, but I try nevertheless), vegetarian (the non-judging and non-preaching kind, but I'm more than happy to try converting you by cooking you a delicious meal), very easily amused. I love finding beauty in the tiniest of things and sharing the joy with other people =)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to the CS community, and planning my debut this November on my 2 month trip to Latin America. Until now, I haven't had the opportunity to travel, and my world experience is limited to having lived in 2 different countries - Russia and Australia. This trip is my first travelling adventure, and the reason for participating in CS is that I want to experience the places I visit from an insider's point of view, rather than falling into the trap of being a "tourist". I value the importance of local people as much as the places and attractions, and believe that the two cannot be separated if one wants to achieve the ultimate authentic learning experience. I can't wait to meet new people from different cultures and walks of life and learn from them, as well as share the little knowledge and experience that I have myself.
Due to my current living circumstances and University and employment workload, I am unable to host anyone, but I look forward to doing so when I get the opportunity!
None as yet, but I am sure there are some amazing experiences to come!
Dancing (Latin, lindy-hop/swing, ballroom), preferably in the rain, literature, music, film, British comedy, street art, taking photos, stimulating late night conversations (other times of the day also welcome), tea, interesting people, beautiful places and walking around them, beautiful things and feeling them, hiking, cats, vegetarian food, make-up as a form of art, tattoo art, unconventional beauty, forests, the human body, languages, everything vintage (especially spirometers), vintage shopping, fuzzy feelings
- street art
Music, Movies, and Books
Latin, African roots, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Cats and the Fiddle, Ella Fitzgerald, Regina Spektor (I am convinced that she is the world's physical expression of love), Bjork, Florence and the Machine, The Cat Empire, Muse (especially their early work), Bon Iver, The Temper Trap, Radiohead, obscure Russian songs and plenty more not mentioned and yet to be discovered.
Books that particularly moved me include Doctor Zhivago, Anna Karenina, The Little Prince, Catch-22, Fight club, The Witch of Portobello, A Clockwork Orange, The bell jar.
