Learn about the world and meet new friends!
My friends think of me as being a bubbly, easy-going socialite with a rather colorful sense of humor. I tend to be uncontrollably optimistic. I love learning and am open-minded about culture, music, and philosophy. I get along with almost everyone: every person has something they want to share and I am the person that will enjoy sitting down to hear the story. I also have an abundance of things to share - love, music, endless energy for living life. I enjoy making friends with people that are very different me so that I can be challenged with unique ideas and perspectives. Philosophical or scientific discussions are my favorite ones. I also enjoy bike-riding as exercise and commute when possible, and I am very passionate about music, especially live music.
I live life for every single moment. And it is my goal to keep it that way, and not be distracted by meaningless worries. I don't regret anything I've ever done. As long as I don't hurt anyone I feel that I can float through life freely. There are no boundaries in my view of happiness. There is always something amazing in a moment that can be found if you can see it. I stretch my hands and heart out to everything beautiful I see, and I try to offer only encouragement and love to any person I ever meet. Rays of light are meant to be shared. But first they must be found - that is what drives me to live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed couches all over Europe and have been attending couchsurfing meetings all over the world in the past three years, mostly in the places I've lived (even briefly): Munich, Cairo, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, New York City.
I have had many positive experiences couch-surfing in Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Hungary, and Budapest and have made wonderful friends in many places.
I seek to learn new things every day. I read a lot, and I ask people questions (I ask myself questions, constantly, about the world and about myself as well), and I am enthusiastic about meeting new people. I am always searching for information on things I would like to know about the world. I love primarily to learn in the moment, from a person who is sharing something with me. I spend much of my time discussing music, culture, world events, etc., with friends and strangers. I enjoy learning about other people's passions are and asking them questions about their passions. I feel like I have so much to learn from everyone around me. I also LOVE to cook. I spend hours digging up music that is meaningful to me, and I live off of live music shows. I also enjoy going out to restaurants for good food, going to dance or theater, or comedy acts, and of course museums etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
As far as music, why talk about favorite bands. I have thousands of those. My favorite instruments are: violin, drums, bass, accordian, piano, guitar, saxophone, glass, chains, and synthesizer. My interest in noise music explains the glass and chains, and I'm not quite sure if synthesizer counts as an instrument. However, I love classical, jazz, metal, rock, experimental, post-rock, punk, psychedelic, funk, blues, and celtic. I even love dancing to pop music - and I listen to a lot of indie rock, and electronic music.
I love to be outside so I don't always have time to read. When I do, I really enjoy reading autobiographies and biographies, and poetry.
I haven't owned a TV in seven years, and have no time to sit still for any thoughtless comedy or drama unless it is historical or artistic. I really enjoy watching documentaries, or foreign films, as well as indie films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A friend and I traveled to Gobblin Valley, Utah to explore this unworldly valley of sandstone figures. They were like trees or "goblins" and it was like a forest of these sand-stone structures that are ever disintegrating. We jumped on top of them and skipped from top to top, then ran between them and through them, and up them. We climbed up huge mounds of sand, and we eventually climbed the side of the "cliff" but we had no idea it would be so easy, and within ten minutes we were at the top of the cliff looking 300 feet down at this huge expanse of gobblin valley. As the sun set in a pink sky, the orange valley glittered in the last rays of the sun.
I've also staid in a camp overnight in Hatta, Oman, during a sandstorm and experienced having layers of dusty sand covering my face every couple minutes as I tried to sleep in the night, that was a crazy experience.
