I’m in the FAR NORTHERN PART of San Diego. Not the most accessible place without a car, and not too close to gas lamp etc. I like Torrey Pines and the seals and sea lions in La Jolla, that’s just a bit south of me.

In the summer of 2024, I flew from NY to Chicago and then drove to California, settling in San Diego a few months ago. Very possibly driving across the country again in the next few months :)

Newest interests: super amateur photography and super amateur posting of YouTube Shorts (mostly math-related)

Until very recently, I watched people's cats and tutored Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics online. I still tutor but I now live in one place. It’s a decent apartment with a gym, pool, hot tub, tennis/pickleball courts :) Come and use these things with me!

I grew up in a super-conservative religious society and still don't really feel at home in the regular world - in a way that's actually very cool because I've only started doing some things very recently like travelling, trimming my beard, and any number of random things.

I've been working online and travelling for most of 2023 and 2024. I was born in the US and have lived here almost my whole life. I speak English well but actually spoke Russian for the first few years of my life. My Hebrew is also fluent. I can make myself understood in a mix of Levantine and Standard Arabic. My Serbo-Croatian is really not bad! I can understand a decent amount. I also know about a thousand words of German and maybe 400 of Turkish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are all here to connect and relate to others. That’s really the most important thing to accomplish in life - whether it’s laughing with friends, complimenting a stranger, sharing something with someone who needs it, making someone feel heard, or in any other way. Sharing a living space with a host or a guest, when it works out, is a great way to do that and opens us up to a new way of seeing the world :)
