Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people! I want to have a more real, down-to-earth experience when traveling, and hope to give other people that opportunity as well.
Music, piano, reading, tea, beer, wordplay, etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
I play classical piano and grew up on classical music. I like a lot of other genres, too, though : ) Good music isn't genre specific.
Some films I like:
- The Shining
- 2001: A Space Odyssey
- The Big Lebowski
- Mulholland Drive
- Dead Man
- Wizard People Dear Reader
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail
My favorite novel is probably Infinite Jest.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love talking, teaching, and learning about music and music-making! I'm pretty awful at improvising, but trying to get better.
I also like talking about computers, programming, and algorithms, but wouldn't want to push that on anyone unless they really wanted to talk about it! I am a Teaching Assistant at MIT where I've taught small sections in an introductory algorithms class - it's surprisingly fun and rewarding.
I also love to talk about art, ideas, people, their beliefs, and their motivations. I haven't studied philosophy and only a little psychology, but it's hard not to be interested in these subjects.
I don't know all that much about history and politics, but would definitely like to learn more. I don't live under a rock or anything, but there's so much to know. I'm often impressed with how much people seem to know about the world.
