To better understand my place in this world.

ABOUT ME

I am a sensitive intelligent guy who loves to experience new things and meet new people. Having said that I prefer investing in a few meaningful relationships then spending my time on many superficial ones. I enjoy the opportunity traveling presents to make good friends with people. I enjoy philosophical conversation or conversations of personal importance. I also love science and sci-fi. My sense of humor is playful and silly when I get comfortable with people. I don't enjoy overly intense loud people typically. I don't drink any longer as I spent significant portions of my life in a drunken stupor and have therefore decided to give it up. I have made many mistakes in my life, but truly believe each mistake represents an opportunity to learn and become wiser. I strive to be a good person: As Gandhi said: "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." I have begun following Jesus Christ in my life and believe His teachings are true and life changing when really accepted and applied, yet I never force my views upon people if they don't want to hear them. I value diversity greatly and I believe respecting people is of upmost importance in this world. I think everyone has something to learn and something to teach, and you just have to get to know somebody well and you become the teacher and the learner. I believe a better world is possible, and we should strive to make it. I guess that makes me a bit of an idealist. :) I value simplicity.

I seem to be writing to much already, and I certainly could write allot here but I'll boil it down to one word: Love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. Have been staying at hostels, hotels and intentional communities the past six weeks in Europe. A friend I met on my travels told me about couch surfing, looking forward to a new experience

Intereses

Nature. I love mountains. I love the ocean. I love forests, swamps, deserts and prairie's. I like hiking, snowboarding, swimming, surfing, flying, climbing, snowshoeing and bicycle riding. I love experiencing nature in any way i can, and am always willing to try new activities to do so. I also love science (I studied chemistry & physics). I love learning more about the universe and how it works. I love learning in general, I have started to develop my appreciation of history after spending time in Europe (a place much richer with history then my hometown in Oregon). I have an appreciation of sustainable practices and the use of permaculture, and have recently been developing a strong appreciation of the importance of community. I am interested in communal living, villages and intentional communities.
