About Me

A simple man who loves cultures and learning about the world.

I like to help people and enjoy things more when I share them with friends. I find joy in reading, walking in nature, cooking, and chatting with people over coffee. I love learning new things and fun facts about any topic.

I love exploring cultures of the world, either by reading, traveling or meeting new people.

I'm getting a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics and really enjoy talking about human/social sciences, philosophy, the world, or any random topic.

Hosting people at my place is a real pleasure, there's always much to learn and hear about people's adventures stories.
I believe The world is full of friends I haven't met yet.

I'm not into parties, loud music (unless it is some bebop jazz or a nice guitar solo), or drinking alcohol. So if this is what you are looking for in a host, I'm not your person. Sorry.

When traveling, I tend to always use CouchSurfing since I can dive into people's real lives and routines to understand cultural patterns better. I am an explorer but I consider myself a "Family-oriented" traveler. Which means that, of course I want to walk down your city, but I'd rather spend time with you, your friends and family. Make me part of your family or community for a couple of days, take me to a birthday party or a wedding and I'll be the happiest man on earth.

Besides traveling, these are my passions:
* reading (mostly philosophy and non-fiction)
* listening to music (Heavy Metal, Prog. Metal, jazz, classical music)
* Making music (I play piano and guitar)

Please notice:
Couchsurfing is not a free AirBnB (neither my house nor yours is a hotel). I'd expect you to clean after, help keep my apartment tidy and organized, and don't bring people without notifying.

Couchsurfing is about sharing, meeting people, making friends, helping your community, and making the world a better place. Take care and help someone... Someone will eventually help you and take care of you.

Before sending a request:
1. Read my profile.
2. Do not copy-paste a request (this is extremely rude).
3. Do not request more than 4 nights.
4. I don't accept people with less than 12 references.
5. Read "my house" section so you know the rules and the keyword.

Welcome to Philly!!!
Mi casa es tu casa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started in the community almost 10 years ago, when I lived in Colombia with my dad. We hosted people from at least 15 different countries, always beautiful experiences. Sharing meals, cooking together, talking about politics, religion, books, films, the world, life.

I've hitchhiked through at least 25 countries and CouchSurfing has always been my way to exploring local cultures, making amazing friends and joining new families.

The most interesting people I have talked with have been either my hosts or my guests in CouchSurfing. I'm always amazed by the stories and ideas they have.

Teach, Learn, Share

I go to jazz concerts every Thursday and to the symphony orchestra most Fridays, if you are into jazz or classical, I would love to take you with me.

I'm a member of the Franklin Institute and the art museum, so you can use my membership to get free passes for both museums.

I like to go hiking on Sunday mornings, if you are down for a nice walk in nature, I'll pack extra water and snacks for you to join me.

I make amazing burgers, if you want we can split the bill and get ingredients, I'd love to cook for you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have books about Philadelphia: its history, culture, and most important spots to visit. I can guide you through the city and give my personal recommendations for parks, walks, and food.

I know what it is like to travel and feel the urge to be home. I hope you can find peace and love in my place.

There's always coffee and tea, Wi-Fi, clean sheets, and most importantly, friendship and respect.
