ABOUT ME

We are a couple from York, England in the UK. I (Danny) am a 29 year old male and Laura is a 21 year old female. I had been working in an office in the railway industry for 9 years and came to the conclusion there was more to life than sitting in a cubicle staring at a computer screen!

So I saved some money and left the UK October 05th to travel around Asia. The experience did not disappoint. I have met so many amazing people and had so many amazing experiences along the way. It has truly been a life changing experience for me.

Laura joined me in Thailand for a couple of weeks along my travels. Then we met in Sydney back in April and have been travelling Oz together ever since.

Speaking to travellers from various corners of the globe they told me amazing stories from their couchsurfing experiences, that it's a great way of meeting new people and therefore learning about the world. That's why I joined this website. I am currently in Melbourne, Australia, the 7th country on this backpacking trip. From here I hope to stay with a couple of couchsurfers in the Melbourne area get to know the City and meet cool and interesting people on the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because couchsurfing is a totally new concept to me I've never hosted before. When I eventually return to the UK I will change that. I definitely believe that the good deeds people do around the world inspire others to do the same and that's why I think this website is such a wonderful concept.

Interests

I love Muay Thai, have been training for quite a few years now, most recently in Thailand, the birthplace of the sport. Hope to find some good training camps in Australia. It's a martial art I would recommend to anyone, great for the body and mind.

Laura loves horse riding and has done it for quite a few years. We hope to do a farm placement in Australia working with horses.
