Exploring Australia :)
I always wanted to visit Australia, which I just do at the moment :) For that I went to Switzerland during and immediately after my school and worked as a waitress to get some money together. After a while I needed something more challenging and started an internship as Journalist, followed by a six month training by a newspaper, which meant of course: no money - or in my case, working in two jobs, so about 14 to 16 hours a day...and now I'm there, to see what I've done this for. It just feels unbelievable and great!!!
Dream until your dreams come true!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As soon as I'm back from my journey I have a free couch for open-minded and crazy travellers. When I'm hosted somewhere, I'm interested in getting to know the people who host me. I'm aware that I'm not in a Hotel, but in a private home, and that this experience is about giving something back in a personal way as well as participating in the house.
I was once staying at a students home in Evora, Portugal. It was great, Luisa (the host) was answering me very quickly, which was great, because I couldn't find an accomodation on the Internet before I left for Evora, and I knew I would arrive there quite late. Even if she was busy studying, she took the time to show me around and to get to know each other! I really enjoyed to stay two nights with her and the other students, while having great fun and feeling like finally staying with friends after travelling alone for quite a while.
Travelling, getting to know interesting people, languages, extraordinary experiences, music...
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Everything that rocks or makes you immediately dream away from the time and place you're physically trapped in. Books: Hmm, I don't really take my time for reading, but Nick Hornby books are the ones, I can't just put aside when I have started once. Movies: I like watching movies, and I'm not going to list all of my favourites right now!! :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What a question?? so many! I mean, the last one I've seen was probably the Great Barrier Reef right? But anyway, I guess to decide, what is worth to be called "amazing" you just need to see what situation still makes you wonder, or being excited, when thinking about it years later, and there are plenty of! Concerning my travels I remember two situations which felt like there wouldn't be a good way out of it, and then, suddenly, someone was there to help in an unexpected way. That was amazing and it made me feel right in my opinion that you need to trust your own luck sometimes - especially on a journey.
