I'm person from the United States of Colombian and Western European heritage. I've worked mostly in youth engagement and development initiatives and programs both in the United States and abroad. My academic focus centered around the fields of religion and philosophy and I draw indispensably upon this to inform my life and social engagement, and my interest in education stems from a want to transform lives in order to ultimately make our world a better place. With a deep concern for resisting and overturning the violent and generational effects of systemic racial, economic, and gendered oppression, I believe models of education and youth development based fundamentally around anti-racism and restorative and transformative justice can be channels towards mutual liberation, overcoming, and change. Working with learners from the pre-k through college age groups both in the United States and abroad, I focus my attention on creating an environment of mutual understanding and growth through open-heartedness, compassion, and genuine engagement.

Soy de los estados unidos con herencia colombiana y europea occidental. La mayoría de mi trabajo ha sido en programas e iniciativas de desarrollo juvenil en los estados unidos y en el extranjero. Mi enfoque académico fue en los campos de religión y filosofía y uso estos estudios y prácticas para apoyarme en la vida y el trabajo. Mi interés en la educación nació en un deseo de transformar vidas para crear un mundo mejor. Con una profunda preocupación por resistir y derribar los efectos violentos y generacionales de la opresión sistémica racial, económica y de género, creo que los modelos de educación y desarrollo juvenil basados ​​fundamentalmente en anti-racismo y la justicia restaurativa y transformadora pueden ser canales hacia la liberación mutua, la superación y el cambio.
