Music, Movies, and Books

I love Mark Twain, James Baldwin, Thomas Hardy, Chekhov, Turgeniev, and many poets.

When doing hard work I like listening to Motown or Jazz. When driving I like listening to Doc Watson and Old Crow Medicine Show. When reading or writing I listen to Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Puccini, Prokofiev and Shostakovich.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once cooked for a NASA research crew in the Arctic on Devon Island, the largest uninhabited island on earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I travel to Kenya and pull bones that are millions of years old out of the earth.
