To have a great time in the Vancouver area and BC in general
Hey I'm Dave, nice to potentially meet you! I graduated from Carleton U with a BA in 2012, was in the Canadian Forces Reserves for 6 years, and am now working as a grinder(a.k.a professional poker player) for just under a year now. I love skiing, hockey, sports in general, traveling, and socializing.
I have always wanted to live in BC and had my first shot at it last year. Then I met a female in Vancouver while she was vacationing from Toronto....soooooo I made the EXTREMELY intelligent decision to move to Toronto to be with her. Dumb dumb dumb hah. So since that has now failed, I am moving back to BC in mid Oct. While I search for a place to live in the Vancouver area, I would love to stay at fellow couchsurfers places and meet some new people in the process. I am really looking forward to it!
I am currently, moreless, living my life in the moment. One could argue this is selfish way to live, and you can make a case for that. But, my current philosophy is this:
You're only in the prime of your life once, why not have fun with it and do what you want?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, my landlords and/or housemates haven't been down for the whole couchsurfing thing, so I have yet to host anyone unfortunately. I strongly believe couchsurfing is a great idea, and I hope I can give back to couchsurfing community once I find a place in the Vancouver area.
My first couchsurfing experience was when I first moved out to Kamloops from Ottawa. It was a great experience, met loads of interesting people, and I hope to have a similar experience in Vancouver!
I really like both playing and watching sports. Furthermore, I also enjoy reading a good book, traveling, simple math puzzles, playing chess, meeting new people, skiing, poker, and a cold beer or glass of wine on a deck. Women are interesting creatures as well I suppose haha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In August 2010, I hitchhiked across Canada going through every single province...Canada is a beautiful place. And over the 2011/12 holidays, I hitchhiked from Vancouver, down the US west coast, across to the Grand Canyon, and back home to southern Ontario.
Interesting fact: I have no idea how to play video games, yet alone how to use a controller. I blame my parents for this ahha.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you about poker strategy, and the extremely usefully action of flipping poker chips haha. I'm down for learning all kinds of things. And who doesn't like to share stories and helpful information with one an other?
