Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
find an old convertible to fix up and drive to the Panama Canal
ABOUT ME
I write a lot. Newspaper articles for a paycheck, fiction and poetry for myself (recently finished my first novel). I play music with my friends, go see bands (Austin's crawling with good live music), drive ridiculous distances for good barbecue and explore new places with a camera in hand (amateur photographer). I have a thing for mountains, I make my own coffee-infused booze (which guests can sample), and on sunny winter days I string up the hammock and read a book until it gets dark.
PHILOSOPHY
Embrace change, because it's coming whether you're ready or not.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Looking to host for now, then surf later this year.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm totally new to this. But I have a big house and my guest room is often empty so I thought I'd build up some good hosting karma for when I start traveling overseas and looking for someone to host me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Always have music on at home. Alt rock, 80s pop, Latin and jazz mostly. I read just about anything: Garcia Marquez, Neruda, Kingsolver, King, Steinbeck.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (and back out. down is tougher, surprisingly)
Teach, Learn, Share
I know little local bars with good music, where to get good Indian and Korean food, and I've been to just about every winery and barbecue joint within 50 miles of Austin so if you're into wine tours or brisket, I can help.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belize, Colombia, Greece, Italy, Mexico
Countries I’ve Lived In
Mexico
