About Me

ABOUT ME

I have been living within intentional community for over 6 years now, and I find that it is the most fulfilling lifestyle for me. Mostly focused around sustainability at the moment I am a part of a community which has opened a local, seasonal and whole foods cafe in Chehalis Washington. If not from our own farm, we source all the produce, grains, meats and value added products from no further than Seattle or Portland. That means no avocadoes, bannanas, or chocalate. No cucumbers in December, and no squash in august. :( But really, we have found ways to make up for some of these favorite foods, and the recipies and meal options are always changing.

Life changes so quickly and with my last move to the Bay Area I became part of a community who developed events for young people between the ages of 20 and 30 in Oakland California. We were subsidized for our work and that is why we had these guidlines. I was happy there and we hosted so many fun events. I made many friends in Oakland and created a stable "clubhouse" for folks to hang out, be creative and develop events of there own. I began to miss the Idea of moving towards sustainability because this was not a focus for my housemates, so I decided to move on. Now I'm back at home at 25, developing my next big dream....

but for this moment I'm traveling in Italy using the WWOOF program. I love working and learnoing about farming, and seeing new countrysides, and tasting new foods etc. I love the WWOF program because I can trade what I have for what I need. Work for food and board. I don't know how I even made it over here on my limited budget.

Hence the new CS account. I hope you will have me out to share my experiences and learn about yours. I'd love to help out around your house, and have very minimal needs. Thanks again out to all of you hosts!!!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this site although I have thought about it many times. when I was living in Washington I was getting ready to invite folks to stay at all the various house I occupied but kept moving so I never found the time to set this up. Now I'm living back at mom's house for a little while, and cant offfer a couch.

I feel that I can contribute because I have many great experiences to share, I am helpful and highly develped group dynamics skills, (sounds weird, but I spent a lot of my studies in outdoor education, so we spent a lot of time on this stuff). It's a great contribution to be a ligithearted couch surfer who helps arond the house, stays out of the way and offers whatever is needed to have fun and create a good atmosphere. Thanks to all of you in positions to offer a space to stay.
