Overview
About Me
I travel for business more than for fun but when I go someplace interesting, I like to learn about the destination.
This includes taking walking or biking tours, seeing "must see" attractions and taking in the food and culture of the city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When going to new and interesting places, it's fun to encounter new people and share memorable experiences while exploring the world.
I'm looking to meet up with other travelers who want to trade stories, enjoy a celebratory cocktail, take in an indigenous excursion or want to just zone out for a while.
Interests
I'm trying to better understand how social media is influencing travel buying decisions. In the travel industry, there seems to be some shifting of roles as technology has improved and content is more available to anyone.
I think that as a hotelier, we have an opportunity to do something about it. I also think that the experiences we bring to our travelers will have an even deeper impact which will translate to more loyalty.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - Enjoyed Whiplash, Birdman, Foxcatcher and Wild (recently). Although anything deep, dark and about interesting people has my attention.
Books - All the Kings Men, Independence Day, Empire Falls, A Visit from the Goon Squad, Lolita and Crime and Punishment.
Music - listening to De La Soul, White Stripes and the Shins (recently) although I enjoy Mozart, Monk, Thievery Corporation and lots of other varied genres.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After a couple months of soul searching, I realized that my life belongs to me and it's up to me solely to find meaning in life.
And since then, that is the barometer by which I measure anything I take on.
Teach, Learn, Share
The experience of travel is enriching. By seeing places you've not been to and building relationships with people you don't know, you grow.
If more people (not even that many) would take the risks to travel and broaden their mindset, what a lot of good that would do for people.
