I am a friendly traveller travelling around Australia from the UK. I am open minded, polite and like making food for people. I am also a musician and will happily entertain friends and acquaintances alike with some piano, guitar and my voice. I am a very outdoorsy person and love hiking, camping, cycling, you name it. I will probably enjoy it. If you are kind to me, I will be incredibly grateful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

2 reasons.
Firstly, is because I like meeting new people, and there is no better way to get to know someone than seeing how they live, and experiencing different ways of life
Secondly, I'm not a big fan of spending money. Using money makes it like a business. I prefer to have personal relationships rather than business relationships. In my experience, people prefer favours, memories and good experiences over money. And I can offer all of these things and would love the experience myself.

Interests

I am a keen outdoors man and love anything to do with the environment. I also love to cook. Anything in the kitchen, I will give it a go. Within reason of course. As previously mentioned I am also a musician. Probably my biggest passion. I also am a major comfort enthusiast, and believe it is massively underrated. I love quiet nights and chilling out with a brew, and a film.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to almost all types of music. I enjoy listening to rock, blues, hip hop, rap. Almost everything. Some of my favourite artists are Newton Faulkner, Ed Sheeran, Linkin Park, DJ Okawari and Biggie. But some of my favourite styles are classical, jazz and Chinese intstrumental. DJ Okawari is an amazing artist, who plays beautiful, peaceful instrumental piano, with a cool beat and often a jazzy sax thrown in. Awesome.
Movies - One of my favourite films is Into The Wild. Anything that is almost about breaking out of social norms is interesting. Into the wild is all about travelling and adventure. I like adventures, so my film tastes tend to follow that trend. Throw a bit of fantasy and you've got middle earth. Love those films.
Books - My interest in books follows the same pattern as my interest in movies. So middle earth is high up there. I am also in the process of reading Journey Through Europe. Its about a man who travels through Europe solely on his two feet alone. He likes the idea of the freedom and with his two feet, there is no price, no schedule, just you and the ground beneath your feet. Nothing is rushed, just at walking place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to part of the Royal Air Force Cadets. While I with them I got the chance to fly helicopters, planes and gliders on many occasions. The experience of being able to fly was indescribable.
