About Me

I'm a marine and freshwater biologist and love being outside exploring nature as much as possible. I'm really easy going and don't take myself too seriously. I like socialising and meeting new people, especially those who have a different viewpoint and teach me something new about the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Moving to a brand new city that I've never been too before is difficult but it gets a little easier when you get some inside local knowledge and friendly advice on where to go and what to see.

Meeting new people is also a big bonus of couch surfing especially when you don't know anyone living in that city.

Interests

I like cycling, running and generally just keeping fit. The beach and sea has provided my with endless entertainment and wonder since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Recently I've been living in some pretty snowy and mountainous regions so I picked up some snowboarding and skiing skills as well.

Its not all about the adrenaline though, sometimes its nice to pause the world with a nice cup of tea and a good book.

What I Can Share with Hosts

bad jokes, good whiskey and a strangley ambivalent view on academia and what it means to be a scientific drifter blown by the winds of research proposals and funding panels.
