In my spare time, I organise events that celebrate the creative arts and DIY scene in Glasgow. I take a pretty laid back approach to life, but extremely open minded about trying out new things, and always at my happiest when travelling.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has completely opened my eyes and changed the way I view and approach travel. Having complete strangers open up their home and offer another complete stranger a place to stay was an alien concept to me, and the hospitality and generosity was overwhelming at first. But then I got it.

Travelling solo and having somebody local become your friend and show you a taste of local living is absolutely the way forward. I think it's the best way to experience new places and to journey off the beaten path, away from the typical tourist destinations. It might sound cliche, but travelling solo and using Couch Surfing has made me realise that travel is often more about the people you meet along the way, not the destination.

And in the words of the late, great Anthony Bourdain (who possibly quoted someone else...): "Don't be a tourist. Be a traveller". Take note ;)

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Organised an urban music festival based in Glasgow city centre. The event was spanned out across 5 venues with over 30 artists over the course of the evening. I had to secure sponsorship to help with funding and recruit volunteers to help run the venues.
