ABOUT ME

There are two of us, me (David Haslam) and her (Teele) but she is working at the moment so the stuff below tells you about me.

Over 6 foot with greying curly hair.

Very friendly and gregarious.

PHILOSOPHY

Born-again Atheist, Liberal Democrat bordering on Anarchist. Existentialist

"Dont let the Bastards get you down"

"Be realistic, demand the impossible!"

"Bigger cages! Longer chains!"

(I am more humourous than ranting!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gliding - I am no good at gliding myself but a British Aerobatic Champion took me up to 4000ft and then . . . It was like 20 years of funfair rides stuffed into 20 minutes.

Spent a week on a trawler, 20 miles off the Isles of Scilly with no sight of land for days, just that grey Artex. Didnt see any dolphins but found myself in a sea of huge (and small) purple and orange jellyfish. As we pulled out of the St.Marys, first thing in the morning, the ocean was so still the water was like a pefect mirror for miles and miles apart from the wake of the boat.

While walking through a forest on the island of Saaremaa, Estonia, came into eye ball contact with a Lynx in a glade. It ran across my vision. It took awhile for it to sink in what I had seen.

Running the Old Newtonians Sunday Morning Football team and help getting them into the Northampton Sunday Alliance for 15 years. (I do arf miss kicking a football still!)

Going to an early rave down in near Lands End in Cornwall, walking to the edge of the cliff and watching the waves come in and crash around the old abandoned tin mines at Bottallack. Magic!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning how to become semi self-sufficient. Had to kill my own sheep this year for the first time, that was a big learning curve.
