About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I enjoy hosting with couchsurfing, looking for the true couchsurfing/hosting experience, lots of good times here, and the local Couchsurfing community is pretty good.

I was a national park ranger for several years in almost as many locations at mostly historical or biographical parks. I like museums, history, and getting out to see sights and explore in many places. Because I've worked as a Park Ranger, I've led the masses through many beautiful sites and this experience makes me and my stories endlessly interesting, trust me. :)

Parks volunteered at: Yorktown Battlefield, Virginia
Manassas Battlefield, Virginia
Cowpens Battlefield (Moo), South Carolina

Worked at: The National Mall, Washington, DC
Lincoln Birthplace, Kentucky
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Park, Georgia
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

and that's it

Having worked in Washington, DC for a year, got to experience a fast moving city where there's a lot to do all the time. Sometimes I like to get caught up in that, other times, I like to slow down and take it easy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Usually as a host, chef, or guide, or wwoofer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I enjoy hosting with couchsurfing, looking for the true couchsurfing/hosting experience, lots of good times here, and the local Couchsurfing community is pretty good.

If you looked at my profile in the last couple of years, it stated that I worked the night (2nd) shift and therefore had to get in touch with you at weird times. This is no longer true, I currently work days as does most of the world and while my schedule has me out pretty early, I like to get out when I can, and now this means that the evenings are the time for that!

This is from the couchsurfing FAQ regarding leaving references:

When should I write a reference?

You can write a reference whenever you have learned something about a Couchsurfer that will be informative to the community. You must have interacted with a member, be it online or in-person.

We also recommend that you wait to leave a reference until your experience with the other member has ended. That way, your reference can reflect your entire experience with that individual, and not just part of your time together.
