About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Body Mechanic
ABOUT ME
I am a quiet 23 year that likes to stay very active. I have an ashtanga yoga practice which I participate in 2 to sometimes 3 times a day, followed by a night cap of jujitsu 2 to 4 times a week. I am currently trying to become certified as a yoga teacher so I can eventually become a body worker practicing body restoration through a technique in jujitsu called Seifukujutsu which is deep body massage.
When I am not working my body I try to be a writer. I am interested heavily in the relationship between the body, energy, and technology. I have a strong interest in early 20th century French Thinking and occasionally try to be a surrealist. I recently had an essay published on Paul Virilio. In the community I try to organize writing conferences, participate as a lecturer in college classes, and leading reading groups.
Daily I work with children and find their world to be incredibly magical and conceptually destructive.
PHILOSOPHY
I search and attempt to transcend. I like obstacles and the impossible. I try to introduce limitation into my life as much as I can to create other possibilities.
I seek to find momemts beyond the next to gradually transform myself and my friends.
I destroy patterns and create new ones.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This would be my first interaction with the CS project. I would be using CS for spiritual development and would hope to share my cultural knowledge with the host that would be willing to host me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have done little couch surfing, but I have a large experience of sharing spaces. For 4 years of my life my family house sat so I have a very large experience of respecting spaces that are nice enough to host me.
Interests
Philosophically I am trying to write a book involving General Economy, Architecture, the Body, Religion and Myth so I am interested heavily in ideas- Mauss, Bataille, Foucault, Heidegger, Deleuze...
Physically, I enjoy walking, Ashtanga Yoga, Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, and

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I traded an Ipod for a rock by throwing an Ipod off a ferry in place of a rock. That rock got traded to an invidual as a token of affection. Eventually, as that relationship turned sour, that rock was taken to Mexico by the other and the rock deposited in a shrine for the Lady of Guadalupe.
What is amazing is how a rock can travel from a random beach in the Pacific Northwest down to Mexico to be deposited symbolically back in the womb of the Mother.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share a very general perspective of being that spans from pre-history to the post-modern.
I can teach some basic yoga poses and stretches to help strengthen the body.
I can teach some basic yawara (the 1st board of jujitsu) which involves simple escapes from wrist grabs.
And I can listen.
