About Me

Travel the world.....Enjoy cultures, people and Life

I'm a travel enthusiast who's always looking for the next destination to travel to. I'€™m working my way through the world each continent at a time. I would like to eventually hit most of the countries in Europe within the next few years after I finish touring South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

I have a crazy outlook on life. I believe if you want something bad enough you should go for it. Let no one stand in your way of your dreams. For this reason, when I travel I come across some crazy & exciting experiences.

After backpacking through many countries and experiencing first hand how people have and others don't, I found there had to be a different way of helping people besides walking by and throwing a coin in a cup.

I use to travel for myself but after meeting some awesome locals and experiencing what I would call Bliss, I now travel for others.

I have concluded that MY American Dream consists of a white picket fence that stretches around the world. I'd trade in my gas guzzling vehicle for a smile on a kids face cause I gave him/her a piece of candy or soccer ball. Where people treat each other with respect and kindness because they enjoy each others presence not because of the brand of their cloths or there expensive watch.

Overall I've had a great experiences surfing and meeting awesome people.

After my bus left me stranded on the border between Brazil and Venezuela, I basically had to decide whether I wanted to stay in a shady border town or start walking. As I walked with my thumb out in high hopes, a family passing by gave me a lift to the nearest city. A great relationship took place in those couple of hours and I ended up staying on their couch that night. Later while talking, they explained their philosophy about giving and how they try to help out people anyway they can. My first thought was "why aren't they on couch surfing?". As I found out more about their philosophy, I shared with them about a website that does the exact thing they do. They were so excited to hear that other people where doing the same thing. Later I found out they couldn't afford a computer. These sort of experiences have contributed and shape my own philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

A whole day of daylight while on the way to Alaska by sea.

Jumped into the Amazon River off a moving transport boat with a rope tied to myself.(Manaus to Belém) (After 5 days without a shower..i needed to know how water felt again)--

I have the honor of establishing a youth soccer club for low-social economic families in a community. The New Generation Soccer has become more than a soccer team it is allowing parents to take ownership in their community and is promoting education, self sustainability, organization and confidence. Teach, Learn, Share

Cuba taught me something I'd never realized before.. If "teaching" people means helping create an opportunity that never existed and can lead to them becoming self substantiating. More than likely they will stand on there own two feet someday and show others. If "giving" means handing people materialistic things, turning your back and walking away but results in people always expecting to receive just that and depending on others. I will always have to pick teaching someone over giving them material things and forgetting.

As travelers we all have to think about how we effect the places we visit. Do we consume and take from the countries we visit? or Do we help by giving back to a country and leaving it better than we arrived?

I believe every traveler should ask these questions and decide for themselves whether a service or disservice was provide from the country they visited.

Teach.. Learn ..Share...

Knowledge is a powerful tool, as a traveler I have a responsibility to share with others the information I've attained so that one day they will have the opportunity for a better life...
