About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To keep exploring this wonderful world and the wonderful people in it.
ABOUT ME
I am a strange mix of traditional and a bit wacky. Value good manners, very bright, very curious. Love people who are passionate about who they are and what they do. Have had a very interesting life as I worked for years as a broadcast journalist, traveling the world makings documentaries. Feel like I have another 3 careers left in me still. Love listening to people and learning. More often found in a public lecture on a subject I know nothing about rather than sitting in a pub.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Don't judge someone unless you have walked in his/her shoes. Change is always possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love non-fiction about social change or social observation, so Clay Shirkey, Malcolm Gladwell are two people whose take on the world interests me greatly. Music, anything as long as its good. Movies, no horror films, I look away if there is too much violence. Loved Robocop, Transamerica,Coen brothers movies. Don't like chick flicks or romantic comedies but I do like Reese Witherspoon so sometimes have to see one or two. Action and drama and have seen some lovely animation. Oh and I like end-of-the-word, Post Apocalyptic kind of films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Was once arrested for Transportation of Illegal Weaponry...seriously. You can hear the story here http://www.someoneoncetoldme.com/gallery/02122010. I make skirts that light up with electroluminescent wire, you can see them here www.actonstreet.com. When I worked as a journo I interviewed murderers, contract killers, celebs and directed a doc about the first two men who tried to circumnavigate the world in a microlight. I have a full motorbike license. Took a show to Edinburgh Festival and acted in it too. I once saw the end of a double rainbow in the Grand Canyon. And I have lived a worked in Saudi Arabia, oh and Berlin.
Teach, Learn, Share
Oh my goodness now there is a question! I have done it all. I am trained in many complementary health practices, I can film and edit using Final Cut Pro. I can cook but would love to learn more about cooking - would love to learn to cook Indian and Japanese food. I can solder! I can sew, I can make people laugh. Would love to learn to Tango.
