Convincing US friends to get a passport
I live in Independence.
I was fortunate to have a father with wanderlust and started traveling young with car caravan trips to the West Coast, Mexico and Canada. I have continued traveling in the states and to Canada, Europe, Mexico. I have traveled many different ways; I am a pro at one bag packing and getting to the best hostel/B&B the most economical way. Not to say I don't appreciate traveling with luxury but I can go several places for the price of one luxury trip and have a better opportunity to meet people.
There is not enough time to experience all cultures but it has to be a priority in our lives to experience as much as we can, so this world can continue to exist and hopefully to thrive. Educate me and I can educate others who haven't had the opporunities that travel provides.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted many surfers, all ages, and each person has offered something special. I hope to go to the France meet up in France 2014.
All my hosting experiences have been great. It's the surfers who confirm and don't show who tick me off. I don't send my address until I have a confirmation a week before. I still haven't surfed yet but am working on it....
I am always willing to learn and try new things. Books, food, music, history and travel...suprise, suprise...are where I find my joys.

Teach, Learn, Share
Sometimes I feel I must be very boring with all the talented couch surfers out there, but I love meeting people, being introduced to new cultures, traveling and learning from different points of view. I used to think I had all the answers, now I only have lots of questions and opinions.
