I've been living in Bristol since October, 2021. Prior to that, I lived in Cayman Islands for several years. I love interacting with people and getting to learn about different cultures, food, music and dance. I love Latin dance forms like Salsa and Bachata. I've been learning Spanish for the past year and a half. I like to make new friends and I love travelling. So far, I've been to Cuba, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama, Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York, Miami and various other places in the USA. I'd like to explore more of Europe and South America.
I like doing meditation, yoga, surfing, hiking and lots of water sports. I believe in enjoying the present moment. We only live once, so we should spend most of our time in doing things we enjoy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I mentioned, I like to meet people and interact with them. I feel good when I am with people and when I make friends. Also, Couchsurfing is a great platform to learn about different cultures and making connections. I didn't know about Couchsurfing before. One of my friend told me about it recently and I really liked the concept. So, I am giving it a go to see how it goes.
- making friends
- enjoying life
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite song is 'Vivir mi Vida' by Marc Anthony. I love latin music and also electronic music. I like comedy and feel good movies, especially Mexican, Spanish, Peruvian, Colombian, Hollywood and other movies.
I don't read books much but I watch lots of TED Talks to get new ideas and knowledge.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Hawaii to learn surfing alone. At that time I didn't know swimming so it was dangerous for me as there was big waves in Pacific Ocean. When I went there, I thought that I'd be wearing life jacket while surfing but the instructor told me that if I wear a life jacket it would be difficult to learn surfing. So, I had to do it without any life jacket. Initially I was little scared but then gradually I got used to it. I managed to learn surfing there and most importantly, I am alive. I think it was my high adrenaline rush that I took such big risk, but it was fun.
Disclaimer: Please don't try this as it is dangerous. Learn swimming first before you go to learn surfing.
