About Me

CURRENT MISSION

currently trying to retrieve my sense of smell - it's been elusively hiding somewhere external to me for almost a year now and i miss it dearly - we were a wonderful pair!

ABOUT ME

i like to make, bake and eat vegan cake .. a lot..

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

a dearly beloved friend of mine - (as well as a flatmate and fellow CouchSurfer) introduced me to this wondrous world, exposing me to the colorful and exciting plethora of people, places and experiences waiting to be tapped into and discovered! I CouchSurfed with her and a group of friends through Eastern Europe last summer - meeting a really diverse arrangement of people with great energies, enthusiasm and of course unbelievable hospitality. I particularily enjoyed the ever-so-cool CouchSurfing party I went to in Vienna!

I have only CouchSurfed in capital cities so far, and what could have been overwhelming, disorientating and inaccessible cities in the short time we had in each became instantly personalized, underground and localized through the enthusiasm and time our hosts spent with us showing THEIR cities rather then THE city.

I am totally excited to expand my experiences both as surfer and host - both rural and urban.

Interests

discovering and exploring space - and when i say space, i don't mean place - i mean the space within the place, and my place within the space.

i dislike stereotyping and generic non-description - but realize i am at risk of falling under both those categories - so from the outset i am just going to reclaim all the ideas, terminologies and activities i am about to mention for what they really are - beautiful, fascinating and empowering!

autonomy, empowerment, meditation, solidarity and resistance, grass-roots, feminism/masculinism/genderism and non, black and white photography, painting, the politics of food, eating, environmentalism and our construction/conceptualization/othering of 'nature', anthropology, colour, dancing to and listening to african music of all styles and origins, discovering, exploring the internal and external, alternative economies, self-sufficiency, hiking and DIY. MOTION ...on and on and on it goes ...

Music, Movies & Books

afrobeats!! counterculture books on politics and theories exasperating over the current state of the debaucheress and destructive existence of free-trade neoliberal capitalism in all its tentacled glory. nothing like a light-hearted and positive read right?!

One Amazing Thing I've Done

one amazing thing i have done was to open my eyes - make of that what you will ... hmmmm is that cheating? abstract, minimalist and modern artists wouldn't think so ;) ... make of that what you will!

Teach, Learn, Share
