About Me

(Iski rhymes with Whiskey.) I speak with my entire body. I get really happy and really sad about things. I'm an everything nerd. I party soft, and I sing a lot. I stop and smell flowers and try to cuddle pretty much every animal i see.

I was reared in Jax Beach, Florida, escaping the bible belt on my joyous 19th birthday. My heart is in San Francisco. I spent most of my childhood in cyberspace, with very few friends in meatspace. I dropped out of school in 7th grade and started college early. This saved my life. Took two years of Behavioral/Physiology/Perception stuff at UCF in Orlando. Finally taking advantage of my wanderlust I spent the better part of four years backpacking between North American intentional communities & interesting universities: crashing the courses of my favorite authors/explorers, and staying in the dorms thanks to websites i used similarly before finding couchsurfing. Took a 6 month couchsurfing roadtrip in summer 2008 to find a place to start over. It was the SF Bay. I lived in Berkeley for 2 years, and San Francisco for 2, studying languages and getting myself into wonderful conversations at tea parties and the nearly limitless supply of potlucks and acro/bodywork healer gatherings, and learning and teaching at the nearest hackerspace. I'm a participant in the Hacker Community 2012: Lived in Berlin for 6 months doing similar things and have been hitchhiking around Europe working on my computer since January 2013. Life is good.

Travel wishlist (want to go with me?):
Brasil, Andalucia, नेपाल(Nepal), ประเทศไทย(Thailand,) Schweizer Alpen, Ísland, & any parts of Africa, S. America, Asia.

Cooperation is key. Education, freedom of information, healthcare, skillsharing, and DIY (DIT: Do it together is even better) must be spread! And a little hedonism every now and then is equally important.

I love sharing! I love company! Almost never prefer to be without it. I have an insatiable interest with interpersonal psychology and language. I believe honesty, openness, and an assertive outlook are the most important qualities one can have. With these principles, many people could be liberated from a lot of their suffering.

I'm about as cuddly as they come, human contact (thru hugs, massage, and conversation) is the BEST.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Note to potential hosts of my euro-tour: I don't have a proper computer and this websites deletes half my messages instead of sending them! Please bear with me while I get back to all of my messages and ask for my email or phone meanwhile as that would help us get in touch. Also I'm hitch hiking and slow/traveling/plan changing so my dates are rarely exact! I'm looking for people with free time or those I can follow around and share a bit of their daily or otherwise lives with me. It's also possible that bad weather or other happenstance will change my path and i might not even make it to your part of the world. Just message me if in doubt!

I moderate the Travel Companions, Hitchhikers, and East Bay groups. And i love Rural Surfing.

Met up with and organized a lot of meetings regularly in the cities I've lived: Orlando, Berkeley, San Francisco, Berlin, and along my US/Canada Roadtrip.

2005:Did A LOT of college self-touring by way of roadtrip or backpack before I found CS I used other sites. Evergreen State, Simon's Rock, Hampshire, Reed, Berkeley, MIT, CalTech & New College were my favorites.

CS Camp at Burning Man 2007 & 2008.

CSurfed Cuba, Japan, Korea, The Eastern Yucatan, & Most of Mainland North America along the latter 7 months of 2008.

2009: Finally started hosting while living in Berkeley with my roommates! Have been surfing almost 2 years of my life, on 300+ couches and hosted about 75 surfers. I like hosting more than surfing. I always have all this space and i use less than 10% of it! I love to fill it with globe trotting folk and extracting what knowledge and passions i can from them. And MAN i love taking care of people, especially travel weary ones!

You only have one life to live. Being shy is a waste of precious time you could be having fun. Being afraid of people is a waste of your thought processes! Interact with strangers. Don't leave anything to uncertainty.
