Mission America - Exploring the US - Get to know the country everybody is talking about (in positive and negative way)

ABOUT ME

We are Dennis and Richard and we both come from East Berlin. We finished high school last year (german Abitur). Dennis participated then in a stage at an event management agency (hope you know, what it is...). I, Richard, had to pass civilian service for 9 months (did it at a retirement home). In October we're going to start studying at university.

We're two open-minded guys who are interested in quite everything (there's too much, it would take hours to write it down, but we can tell you all about us when visiting you^^).

At the moment we're travelling the US for 7 weeks. We didn't choose to go to Australia or Asia or South America, we chose the US, because this is the country everybody else thinks they know everything about to judge it as... (you can imagine what people in Germany think about the US). But you can't sum it up in just some words, because this country is too large and we want to see as much as we can to get a better image of it.

PHILOSOPHY

- Good morning is an oxymoron.
- A beer a day keeps the doctor away.
- Dreams come true, if you don´t sleep at night.
- and so on... :)

No, seriously, we can also get up early if necessary and we can also survive without beer (at least for some days). We're young, so there is plenty of time to find out why we live our life. We're curious about every other culture we don't know yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately, we didn't know about CS before we went to the US. So we haven't got any experience in couchsurfing.
As we were told about it by a guy we met in a NYC hostel, we immediatly registered in CS, because we think it is a really good opportunity to get in touch with the local people (and of course to save money ^^...).
