I love life, new experiences, meeting people and making the world a bit better place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have travelled quite a lot (for work and pleasure) and have been treated so well by total strangers all around the world. I want to give back some of it. I also enjoy meeting people who are travelling to hear their insights on where I live.
Environment, social change, urban cycling, farmer's markets, CSA, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, out-of-doors activities, learning, music. I volunteer with environmental organizations, groups concerned about inequality, the democracy deficit and evidence-based decision-making. I am vegan and very passionate about how being plant-strong can help human and planetary health.
Music, Movies, and Books
Upbeat movies, documentaries, intelligent comedies
Non-fiction books about environment, equality, plant-strong (vegan) approach to food
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I backpacked through Asia for a year and canoed the Nahanni River (without an outfitter company) so long ago that I ended up in a book about Northern explorers.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my passion for Ottawa - what to see and do that's beyond the tourist sights.
