Hi! We’re a nice, young, open-minded couple from Spain, looking forward to experience life :) First of all we’d like to introduce ourselves as a team of two, ready try new things, meet awesome people and explore the world! Since we met each other we never had stopped traveling to new places in our country as much as we could. Now we think it’s time to break through borders together to enhance, even more our experiences! We found in Couch Surfing the best way to do all these things, and as we had talked many times before about trying it, we decided this summer it’s finally the time to do it!

Diego, 21, is an IT technician and a Business Administration student who had an earlier experience living abroad, as he could enjoy an Erasmus internship in Dublin. Meeting new people, exploring new things and learning from life had been part of his interests, even more since then. He is a music lover, and used to play piano. Enjoys listening to almost every genre at any time! He likes IT and technology in general, and as Laura he loves learning languages, specially English. In fact, them both are English private teachers. Diego can’t say no to a good movie, or having a good beer with you if you propose! :D

Laura, 21, is a nurse student in her last year. She can be quite and reserved around new people but don’t let that fool you, once she is at ease she can be playful and funny. She always does her best, or at least she tries hahaha. She is an awful dancer although it’s one of her favourite things in the world, when you’re dancing you can’t think nothing more and you can express what you think or what you feel just by the way you move. Laura loves making new friends and chatting a lot! Also, she likes singing and laughing. Her greatest passion is her pet, Berlín (aka Pichín), a little and playful cat.

We can’t wait to travel, meet new people and hanging out (and of course, partying :D) in new places!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, we think traveling don’t only have to be, by definition “going to a different place for a certain period of time” For us, travelling has a meaning beyond. We want to feel the place, sharing life experiences, improve ourselves the more the better... What better way to do it than meeting people?
Since we heard stories of some friends who had tried Couch Surfing, we always had that curiosity. We had already traveled staying in other people’s homes, renting a room and having some contact with the owner with AirBnB. We see Couchsurfing as the next “step”, integrating ourselves even more wherever we go and meeting new people.
As for us it’s the very first time to do this, we still have no references, however do not hesitate in asking for our Facebook or Skype if you want to have a first contact with us! Everybody has his first time ;) For the moment we haven’t got our own home to offer guests, as we live with our parents, but we’re not closed to meet some traveling people here if they want to, and showing them around :)

Interests

Our very first interest is to travel around the world, discovering new places, cultures, people and food! :D
We think that every person that you meet can teach you something and because of that, the more people we meet, the merrier!
In other aspects of our life we like animals (Laura has a funny cat), dancing, singing, and trying to make life a little funnier although Diego is the one who’s always seeing the good in the bad things (something that Laura loves of him)
One of our biggest passions is beer lol, we’re always looking for a new one to taste it (Diego even has a large collection of beer bottles), so we hope to go someday to Oktoberfest hahaha.
We are also interested in learning new languages, we are both studying English since we were children and in a fit of madness Laura started learning German three years ago, but she doesn’t find as much time as she would like to her German studies.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, there is much to say here. Let’s say Diego can’t stop listening to music 24/7. From rock classics to electronic music through punk, rap and alternative. To mention a few ones, he likes: Linkin Park (listening while writing this haha), Arctic Monkeys, U2, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, 30 Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Mumford & Sons, Bon Jovi, Eminem, Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens, Dada Life, Paul Kalkbrenner, Avicii to mention a few ones ‘:)
He don't have (or don't take the time to it....) to read many books as he used to. Instead, Laura devours every good book that comes into her hands. She likes J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Laura Gallego Garcia (these ones are spanish lol)(Diego also read some of those haha), and of course some of the classics like Agatha Christie, Jane Austen, Charles Bukowski or Shakespeare. She reads poetry as well (this genre all in Spanish for the moment hahaha), David Martínez (Rayden), Diego Ojeda, Irene X, Marwan, Bécquer, Mario Benedetti or Pablo Neruda.
Laura is crazy about TV shows (Diego doesn’t know when she finds time to see them), she prefers medical shows as Grey’s Anatomy, House MD, Scrubs and ER but she likes any kind of show like How I met your mother, Friends, Once upon a time, Castle or Pretty little liars.
While Laura prefer TV shows Diego is more about films, his favourite ones are: Star wars, Fight Club or Matrix. Laura keeps wanting him to watch Amelie, maybe one of these days…
