ABOUT ME

My name is Devraj Kori, you can call me Devraj, Dave, Kori, or any nickname you want as long as its at least a little clever. I grew up in burke, VA, just outside Washington DC. I attend Washington and Lee University in the US. I'm currently studying at DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark; its my first time in Europe and i absolutely love it. I play rugby, follow football religiously, and spend a good amount of my time doing fuck all and enjoying every minute of it.

PHILOSOPHY

Its a little hard to some up something I've spent a lifetime trying to figure out here. I'll try anything twice. I try to look out for other people ahead of myself, trust that others will do the same for me, and i'm rarely disappointed. I weigh my life in experiences and personal relationships rather than accomplishments. I also think there's something I can learn from anyone, and do my best to engage in a conversation rather than dismissing other's views, as i don't think it makes sense to fight ignorance by ignoring it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i guess i've couchsurfed but not through this website. Most recently when visiting Liverpool i stayed with a friend I made in Barcelona, it was an awesome experience.

Interests

Football (diehard Everton FC fan), rugby, music, writing, meeting new people, hanging out on rooftops and in other scenic spots, anything i haven't tried before.

Books: Anything by Vonnegut, The Great Gatsby, Catch 22, You Shall Know our Velocity, Everything is Illuminated, Dan Brown books when i'm in a lighter mood, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, anything by Cormac McCarthy, and a lot more i can't think of at the moment

Music: I go through phases so I like a pretty big range. I love David Bowie, K'Naan, The Clash, The Beatles, The Killers, Modest Mouse, Rancid, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Blur, Damien Marley, Bad Religion, Supergrass, and a whole lot more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study politics, and have probably learned more about world politics in the last couple weeks traveling europe through conversations then I have in a lifetime in a classroom. I won't say I know that much, certainly not as much as I'd like to, but I've been told I have a sort of different way of thinking and hopefully can give you a new perspective on issues that you'll find interesting. I also spend a lot of time watching TED lectures and reading things to that affect, so at the least i can hopefully regurgitate someone else's good ideas to you.
