About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm working hard and enjoying Wellington life!

ABOUT ME

I am open-minded, curious, laid-back, and sociable. I seek out beautiful things to photograph and blog about. I try to treat all people with respect and value the differences between people, which I find fascinating - the people and the differences! I try not to fill my mind with trivia like the often negative world-view presented by the media, and focus on what real people have to say about their own lives and their original thoughts.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to change the physical world as little as possible, but try to seek out as much excitement as I can while I do that. I have an urge to understand everything that helps me in that quest!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Showing couchsurfers the unexplored corners of the Bay of Islands in my little boat! I also try to provide advice, and car rides when I'm driving around New Zealand. I have surfed couches in Germany, Argentina, and Malaysia. I hope to have a place to host other surfers soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed couches in Malaysia (3) Germany, Argentina and Canada. Socialised with a dozen or so other couchsurfers in Malaysia. I loved staying with a family in Hamburg, which is one of my favourite cities.

Interests

Photography, languages, the forest, sailing, movies, playing guitar.

Music, Movies & Books

Neil Young, Tom Waits, Milan Kundera, Tom Robbins, and many more...

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I sailed through the notorious French Pass between D'Urville Island and the South Island of New Zealand. Sailed, without the motor! Watching the water flowing up to the surface around the boat as if it was boiling was freaky! Just a few days before a pod of grey dolphins played around the boat when we were 15 km from any land. Awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, French, German, photography, computers, literature, and a bit of French philosophy.
I want to learn Spanish, tango guitar, Portuguese, and running my own business.

Countries I've Visited

Argentina, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malaysia, Slovenia, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I've Lived In

New Zealand
