About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to do everything.

ABOUT ME

I consider myself to be true Scot; although in truth I have had quite an international upbringing. As a consequence, I am always thrilled to travel and meet as many new people from around the world as possible.

If you want to stay at my place, I ask nothing in return apart from a bit of energy and excitement for showing you around my city!

PHILOSOPHY

I want to experience as much of everything as possible when I am young, so that I can put everything I've learnt into practice later in my life. And also I want to look back with no regrets!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am happy to host people on my couch, show them around my city and take people from all around the world out for a few drinks :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am pretty new to the website, although I have accidentally couchsurfed many times before. I always find that staying with local people gives you the best experience of a new city, as they know the best places to eat, drink and visit. And you get a chance to meet their friends and find out a bit about the locals!

Interests

Loads of stuff, you should ask me about it sometime.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots and lots and lots.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent three months in 2011 living and working in Cambodia. Over the course of my stay I surveyed 240 families in the rural communities to establish the quality of their drinking water; which gave me an incredible insight into how generous and welcoming poor families really are. It put my own life in Scotland in perspective.

While there I: rode elephants through the jungle; ate tarantula, rat and duck foetus; took a dirt bike up into the mountains to explore; explored temples at sunrise; taught a Cambodian chef how to cook spaghetti bolognese; met some of the friendliest folk I will ever have the pleasure of encountering in my life.
