One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i've hiked to and across Fiji's Lake Tagimoucia (this is note-worthy if you've seen the "lake") drenched in wild orchids and tagimoucia flowers.

i've slept in the sand with the ocean lapping at my toes... soaking the sleeping bag actually when the tide came in... but it was awesome. real.

i've lived in a mud hut deep in the southern highlands of tanzania and communicated solely in swhaili for nine days

i've looked out the window on my banda into the eyes of a wild hippo.

i've witnessed a main emergence of a hawksbill sea turtle nest

...wow, i write i realize how incredibly fortunate i've been...

so, although these days i do a whole lot more of designing curriculum intended to persuade privileged adolescents to both challenge themselves and continue developing their intellect and character... every once in awhile one of them will have a breakthrough or personal victory…and though it isn't nearly as exotic --- it is, for sure, an amazing thing I've seen
