About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adventure travel/knockabout vagabonding/bicycling and motorcycling through North and South America

ABOUT ME

I'm very respectful of others. I love to laugh. I enjoy good conversation, food, and friendship. I believe life is short and therefore it should be fun.

PHILOSOPHY

Humanism, anti-authoritarianism, freethought, and ecological sustainability. I believe in mutual aid, voluntary cooperation, and decentralizing political and economic power. And I am an advocate for Copyleft and the Free Software Movement.

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors: Douglas Adams, Immanuel Kant, Borges, HP Lovecraft, Chomsky.
Movies: Royal Tenenbaums, The Edukators.
Music: Midnight Oil, They Might Be Giants.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled behind the Berlin Wall as a kid.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe I have an insight or two into the philosophical tradition. I've written and taught about Big Ideas, science, ethics, ecology, social theory, critical thinking, and 19th century thought. I can sail, teach English writing and speaking, and ride a horse. Sailing is a passion. I know a lot about espresso/coffee/roasting/Fair Trade. I can instruct people in graphic design and typography, motorcycling, driving, Apple Macintosh hardware & software, gardening, printing, and Urban Exploration. I'm interested in improving my football (soccer) skills and anything related to aviation.
