ABOUT ME

I am trying to figure out how to live a life I love from here to the grave on very little money. Lost my job in the layoffs of 2009 and now am baking bread puddings and other yummy things that I sell when and wherever I can.

I have two grown kids, one a high school art teacher and illustrator, the other a theater lighting designer. They are great people and I am quite proud of how I did with them. I've never had or wanted a career but I have had a life. I've done a lot of things from owning an art gallery to being an assistant to a quadriplegic. I've worked on construction crews and been a legal secretary. I've been on Jeopardy and am a member of the National Puzzlers League. My idea of camping is the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Park but I've traveled all over staying in youth hostels in my sixties.

I'm interested in most everything but I don't do much of anything at all. I laugh a lot and can be tactless. I'm working on that. I'm neat but not picky.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just joined. I am looking for a couch for the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert rally in October in Washington, D.C. I have a couch available for one woman at a time for now. I think there is way too much work required here for me to just find out if there IS a couch available for me for what may be a very rare trip, but... whatever.
