ABOUT ME

I am simple...most of the time. I like quiet places, high places, open sunlit spaces, places of beauty and interesting people that I can learn from and can, in return, offer my odd view of the world and the wisdom that comes with living in it. Even though I am an introvert, I like to be social but must balance it out with long stretches of quiet. I have become more observant, patient, wise and kind over the years thanks to many situations and people in my life that have given me the opportunity to learn these high valued qualities. I love Jesus, family, friends, wolves (animals in general), reading, writing, photography, and taking long hikes or drives through the country. I never have a shortage of story ideas for books I'll one day write. Almost every aspect of life has some kind of story to tell, I just have to look close enough to see it and think about it enough to put it into words.

Just a friendly heads up: I don't party-hardy, drink, smoke, cuss/use expletives, or swim in public/wear swimsuits. If you think that makes me boring, then we probably won't get along.

The ever present love in my life is Darby; a 30 lb, needy 14 year old black and white Jack Russell Terrier mix who thinks she's a human child. She is extremely well behaved, trained by her previous owner whom I adopted her from. The only true issue I have with her is that she won't live forever. When I travel, she comes with me.

PHILOSOPHY

Holes in socks get you closer to Jesus. Holes in soles just result in wet feet when it rains.

Action, adventure, sci-fi, and fantasy mostly but I'm read anything that catches my attention, especially if it's about a subject I love, i.e. martial arts, animals, etc.

Travels to Peru in the summer of 2005 and Germany in 2006, three weeks each as a part of a mission trip.

Reached brown belt in Take won do before ridiculously high prices and a minor knee injury, sadly, prevented me from continuing.

Traveled all over the southern USA and once to Maine. Some of it was for missions but most were family vacations. I plan to someday visit all the states. And, lord willing, most of the world.

In the summer of 2017, I drove from Texas to Alaska and back. I took Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) going north and came back down through Jasper and Banff NP, through Montana, Yellowstone, and through Denver. It was an epic four month road trip where my dog and I camped out of the back of my converted truck camper.

Kinda-sort a published poet, I suppose. Several of my poems are in the literary magazine of the college I attended.

Ok, that was more than one but I just couldn't decide which one to put down.

I enjoy the company of people I can learn from. I'm a fairly quiet person but I love to hear people's stories and have in-depth conversations just as long as I can rejuvenate afterward with a long stretch of peaceful solitude and quiet.

I love the mountains, despite how cold it gets. As a central Texas girl I don't like extremely cold weather. Despite this my love of the mountains is such that I plan on someday living in them.

I don't have very many world possessions but I can share my time, my companionship and, of course if need be, my money even though I don't have a whole of that either. :)
